What method of training do you use?

We believe that the key to a well behaved dog is consistently rewarding the behaviors you want. We’ll teach you how to do this and to focus on what you want your dog to do, as opposed to what you want him to stop doing.

click, Treat and Reward

It’s much like us going to work – our salary is our reward, and if we didn’t get that reward, we wouldn’t be as likely to go into the office each day.

It’s the same with dogs.

We need to reward the dog when he has done something we like, thus making  the behavior stronger.

In the beginning you’ll most likely  use treats your dog loves as her reward. But as both of you learn we will teach you how to transition away from food and start using life rewards (like petting, play, walks etc).

We’re committed to training without the use of fear, pain, intimidation and force.

Why are private lessons a good idea?

Private lessons are great for you and your dog to get one-on-one coaching in the comfort of your own home.

We can focus on the areas that YOU want to work on for as long as you want.

Our goal, while at your house, is to show you how to work on the behaviors you’d like your dog to learn, you’ll still have to practice but you’ll definitely see results.

This is especially helpful for dogs with leash aggression, fear issues or just those guys that have a hard time focusing.

How long is a private session?

The first session is generally between a 1 and 1 1/2 hours.

It an opportunity for all of us to get to know each other and really nail down what you want to accomplish.

We will also be starting the training on the first week!

The subsequent sessions are between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What is the best package for my doggie?

Click to see our training packages We gear our packages to what most dogs need.

However, each of our packages can be tailored to fit you and your dogs specific needs.

If your dog already knows “sit” and “down” we can skip that and spend more time on a behavior you’re struggling with.

Private lessons are unique in that it allows your dog to learn in his natural environment at his (and your) natural pace.

If you would like to work on behaviors outside of the home we can certainly do that as well.

Do I have to sign up for a Package?

We offer packages for those who wish to have at least 4 to 6 classes at a discounted package price.

We’re also happy to charge by the hour if you’d like just a couple hours of training.

If I signed up for a 4 or 6 week package and I want to take more classes, do I have to pay the higher hourly rate for the extra classes?
